**Strategic Communications Officer - SC Cleared**
**Inside IR35**
**Contract Term**:6 months***
**Contracting Authority**:The Home Office
**Location**:Hybrid (2 days per week from the London office)
The first duty of Government is to protect the public. Since 1782, the Home Office has led work to keep the country safe from those who seek to do it harm; in doing so, we make a vital contribution to HM Government’s plan for a stronger, fairer, outward-looking and united Britain.
The Home Office covers three systems: Homeland Security, Public Safety and Borders, and Immigration and Citizenship. These systems work collaboratively to deliver our cross-cutting priorities, whilst providing increasingly efficient and secure services for the public. These are difficult areas that can rapidly change in the global environment we work in - this makes us one of the most exciting and stimulating government departments in which to work.
**The role**:
NSTIx is an independent, cross-HMG partnership. As part of the services NSTIx provides, we aim to connect the government NS ST&I ecosystem through delivery of high impact messages, communications assets and organisation of small virtual events for a range of public and private sector stakeholders and partners to support consistency, shared guidance, tools, and processes.
This exciting role sits within the central policy and planning teams within the NSTIx unit, reporting to the SEO Communications lead. You will have a pivotal role embedding the unit’s future operating model, including establishing and delivering a holistic communications and engagement strategy.
**As a Strategic Communications Officer your main responsibilities would be**:
- Drive the implementation of the NSTIx communications strategy, including updating core NSTIx communications assets and channels such as briefing packs, newsletters, virtual platform events and our website.
- Provide strategic communications consultation services for the internal NSTIx team, including soliciting, collating and reporting feedback from partners and stakeholders to inform workstreams engagement approach and develop a forward-looking programme.
- Horizon scanning for new communications opportunities
- Liaise and engage with the departmental embeds and xHMG communications colleagues to ensure clear and consistent communications across the unit and its partner and develop opportunities for NSTIx to contribute on wider HMG communication platforms.
**You’ll have relevant experience in**:
- Strong communications expertise, with knowledge and experience of the cross-HMG national security landscape, experience in developing and improving communications assets and implementing these.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to understand the developing strategic context and implications to desired outcomes.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with a wide range of organisations and people and using those relationships to achieve desired outcomes.
- Experience of working in National Security is beneficial.
- ** SC clearance is essential.**
**Should you require reasonable adjustments at any point during the recruitment process or if there is a more accessible way for us to communicate, please do let me know.**
**If you consider yourself to have a disability or if you are a veteran, and you meet the essential criteria for the role, PSR provides a ‘Guaranteed Interview’ scheme whereby you will have the opportunity to discuss this role and your suitability with a member of our PSR Sourcing team.**
***- Please be aware that this role can only be worked within the UK and not Overseas._
