Gi Group are working on behalf of a worldwide company based in Bardon recruiting for a Reporting Accountant.
Job Summary (Overall Purpose/Function of the Job) of the reporting accountant
The Consolidation & Reporting team is responsible for all activities required to consolidate the Group results.
Report into the parent company and coordinate the completion of the statutory accounts with the external auditors. The individual will also support the group HARPist to ensure the group's compliance with the Holcim Accounting and Reporting Principles (HARP).
The incumbent should expect a high level of interaction with the senior management and corporate accounting business units Europe and will be part of a team responsible for development of the consolidation and reporting process within the company.
The role is an ideal opportunity for someone to get to know a very complex business whilst providing added value in assisting the team to achieve key strategic goals.
Key Roles, Responsibilities, and Accountabilities:
1. Operations Management
- Preparation of monthly results and analysis, quarterly reporting and annual submission for a listed parent (Holcim Ltd) in line with parent reporting requirements.
- Assist in the production of all statutory accounts, FRS101, FRS102 and full IFRS, along with coordination of external auditors and in-house tax department
- Organize data collection & consolidation through different accounting systems JDE, GLI, SAP and Excel
- Responsible for accounts preparation and reporting of Financial Holding Companies (Finco) to high standards of accuracy within tight deadlines
- Supporting the Senior Reporting Accountant in implementation of the LHARP reporting requirements.
- Development and ownership of integrated reporting templates, financial statement reports for presentation to senior management
- Various special projects and analytical support for Shared Services Center activities (including financial analysis)
- Provide analysis of Aggregate Industries Europe financial and operating results for communication to appropriate parties within Aggregate Industries, Holcim and to third parties
- Regular reporting packs
- Qualitative and quantitative actual results
- Ad Hoc projects to assist in managements review and decision making
2. Stakeholder Management
- Communication with businesses and executive management to ensure data collection for periodic group reporting and statutory reporting.
- Liaising with a number of departments in various locations (including Tax, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Estates etc) and external parties such as the Auditors, for the production of the statutory accounts.
- On an ad-hoc basis, participate in service delivery meetings providing status on team's performance, potential issues as well as providing input on continuous improvement and issue resolution
3. Service and Cost Management
- Responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvement measures within own team and for raising similar opportunities across end-to-end, accounting processes
Key Skills and Knowledge required for this position:

- Recognized professional financial accounting designation (ACA/ACCA).
- University degree in accounting or related business field
- Strong IT skills
- Track record of delivering Process Improvement and simplification and a "can-do attitude"
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail oriented with effective planning and organizational skills
- Logical thinker, strong problem solving and analytical skills
- Self-starting ability and possess the initiative and ability to make independent decisions
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and complete work assignments within specified deadlines
- Strong negotiation and persuasion skills and ability to work alongside "strong characters"
- Energetic and enthusiastic individual
This role is full time, temporary to begin with but could lead to a permanent role.
