The Role:
Harrogate Convention Centre is the leading events venue in the North delivering a diverse range of events, conferences, productions and exhibitions, each with their own unique technical requirements.

As the Technical Planner, you will be the point of contact and in-venue technical expert for all clients. Working collaboratively as part of the Event Planning and Delivery team, you will work alongside the Event Manager to ensure all aspects of each event are communicated, planned, costed and delivered in the best way possible for the client and the venue.

Clients are a key part of HCC and you will be responsible for building and maintaining effective working relationships so each client feels supported, valued and wants to return.

You will understand the client’s vision and help and guide them to realise that at Harrogate Convention Centre whilst maintaining a commercial mind-set.

The main accountabilities of the post include:

- Responsibility for planning the technical requirements for a range of events at Harrogate Convention Centre ensuring client satisfaction and commercial returns are balanced
- Ensuring technical facilities, technical resources such as sound, lighting, AV, Stage Management and rigging are organised to meet agreed client needs
- Developing and monitoring technical standards and procedures

Working full time 37 hours per week on an annualised hour’s contract, the Technical Planner is primarily office based, however flexibility is required for delivery of events.

About You:
Skills & Experience:

- Experience in a professional exhibition / conference / entertainment environment including experience of stage, lighting, sound, and digital remote delivery as examples
- Has a thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulations and keeps up to date regarding new legislation and the potential impacts on service delivery.
- Experience in a live events / conference and entertainments environment
- Contract negotiations to meet clients’ needs for event delivery to optimise commercial returns
