**About our client**
Our client is a specialised energy and infrastructure investor that seeks to deploy capital in innovative ways across the energy value chain of the future.
**What the job involves**
In this newly created role you will be responsible for the development of the ESG function with the objective of protecting and enhancing value at the firm and across the portfolio.
- Overall ESG strategic plan creation and implementation across the firm, working closely with the origination and asset oversight teams and the management teams of the portfolio companies
- Quantification, measurement and analysis of emissions/ CO2 which will require demonstrable knowledge of the emissions cycle (Scope 1 & 2)
- Establishment of data-driven ESG goals, milestones, metrics and governance systems
- Develop and implement a plan for collecting, storing, validating and distributing ESG data and content for reporting and responding to requests from key stakeholders such as, but not limited to the firm's LP's
- Maintain awareness of global ESG trends (including industry-wide regulations and regulatory developments), tools metrics and KPI's and share updates and implications with internal stakeholders to ensure that the firm can respond effectively and establisha cycle of continuous improvement
- Collaborate with the Investor facing team to ensure ESG strategy and progress made toward goals is communicated effectively, helping to enhance and protect the firm's reputation with investors and facilitating consistent messaging in all marketing materials

**Who we are looking for**:

- Self-starter with experience leading and managing a function with multiple interdependencies within a multi-office organisation
- Proven track record of executing value-accretive ESG workstreams and driving organisational change
- Experience in creating and delivering an ESG strategy which adds value to the firm and meets stakeholder needs
- Strong commercial acumen to assess, define and integrate ESG metrics into systems, and establish ESG management and reporting processes
- Experience in reporting and the regulatory environment
