**About the job**:
As directed by the LTP Timings and Rolling Stock Manager assist in:

- The development of the permanent timetable in accordance with resource availability, operational, commercial and other business requirements
- Working with Network Rail to jointly develop Timetable Planning Rules proposals and amendments
- The compilation of the permanent rolling stock plan and unit diagrams including the introduction of new rolling stock, plus the associated train alterations in accordance with resource availability, operational, commercial and other business requirements

**Your main responsibilities will be**:

- Preparation of the South Western Railway and Island Line Priority Date Notification Statement timetable bids and Train Operator Variation Requests
- Undertake analysis of operational data to make timetable improvements and propose changes to the Timetable Planning Rules
- Liaise with Network Rail Capacity Planning and other train operating companies to develop timetable solutions
- Deliver rolling stock diagrams to agreed timescales reflecting industry and company operational production process deadlines as directed by the LTP Timings and Rolling Stock Manager, Permanent Train Services Planning Manager and Rolling Stock Introduction Planning Manager
- Ensure the effective and correct provision of rolling stock in delivering the service requirements through production of efficient diagrams, taking into account resource availability, operational, commercial and other business requirements
- Ensure that timetables and developed and rolling stock is diagrammed in accordance with Timetable Planning Rules and Depot Rules / Compendium
- Input of rolling stock resource diagrams into VoyagerPlan within laid down timescales and managing the interface with GENIUS and use of TRACS-RS to develop Carriage Working Notices
- Assist with other activities within the wider LTP section as required by the Permanent Train Services Planning Manager, in exceptional circumstances
- Assist with other activities within the wider Train Planning team as required by the Train Planning Manager, in exceptional circumstances
- Act as a positive role model at all times in matters relating to Health and Safety

**As a minimum, you will need to have**:

- A good knowledge of timetabling and / or rolling stock diagramming
- Knowledge of the timetable development process and Timetable Planning Rules
- A basic understanding of train crew diagramming processes and parameters
- Knowledge of a selection of VoyagerPlan, ATTUne, TPS, GENIUS and Tracs-RS.
- Knowledge of different types of rolling stock and depot / stabling locations
- Understand the nature of all subsections of train planning, how they interlink and impact on each other. A willingness to learn and develop further.
- A good knowledge of South Western Railway geography.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

South Western Railways HQ is based on the 4th Floor at South Bank Central, a stone's throw from the River Thames and a 10 minute walk from our busiest station, Waterloo. It is local to many well-known attractions, restaurants and retail facilities and is easily accessible by public transport.

**Working pattern**:
Working an average of 37 hours per week over 5 days

Monday to Friday, office hours
