These two posts provide an exciting opportunity to develop teaching skills in the University of Bristol Medical School Undergraduate Programme in Somerset Academy (Yeovil) and to extend clinical experience in the Trauma and Orthopaedic department.

Each role is fixed term for one year from 2nd August 2023 to 6th August 2024, in line with national NHS employers rotation dates.

**Undergraduate Medical Education duties include**:

- Teaching in small group tutorials, seminars, skills based practical sessions, simulation and bed-side teaching.
- The focus will be on Year 3 student teaching, and experience will be available in SimMan clinical scenario teaching, and assessment.
- These roles will be under the supervision of the Academy Dean, and the Unit co-ordinators in Year 3 Medicine & Surgery and Year 5 Medicine & Surgery.
- The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the Certificate in Medical Education with the University of Bristol, which will be funded, during their tenure of the posts.

**Orthopaedic duties include**:

- Admission, clerking and day to day care of patients on the Orthopaedic wards and any outlying wards as required.
- Attending daily trauma meetings, ward rounds, clinics and operating sessions as required.

Applicants should note these posts are not recognised by the Deanery or Royal Colleges for training. They will provide an opportunity for enthusiastic Doctors in training who wish to extend their knowledge, skills and practice in Medical Education and Orthopaedics.
