**Salary**: Up to £60,000 - £70,000 per annum maximum depending on experience and location

**THE ROLE**

We’re looking for a Web Portal Architect to be responsible for the for the standards, architecture and technical approach taken by the Portal Application Team.

As a prestigious organisation at the forefront of the government’s efforts to help finance markets work better so that businesses across the UK can survive, prosper and grow, this high-profile position offers a Web Portal Architect the opportunity to takea lead role in the Portal Platform design in-line with British Business Bank (BBB) Architecture Principles.

You will work closely with the Business Analysts to ensure requirements are gathered and accurate information is provided, liaising effectively with business and technical stakeholders, and uild and maintain strong working relationships and open lines ofcommunication with other Application/Enterprise Architects, IT and Business Colleagues

Using your leadership and technical expertise, you will influence a team of developers through the project lifecycle - configuration, development, implementation and release. You will work with Enterprise Architecture Team to define Application and PlatformRoadmap and mentor Team Members, being a single point of contact for all Technical queries related to Application/Platform Architecture.

You will review low level technical designs to ensure solution meets British Business Banks functional and non-functional requirements, provide periodic Project Report to Business and IT stakeholders, and the ongoing review of SLAs and non functional featuresto ensure they continue to be fit for purpose and propose time to time changes for Continuous Improvement

It is essential that you have demonstrable experience of Software Life cycle development in Open Source Web Application Framework, through understanding of Ruby on Rails Framework and RubyGems, and a deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming andDesign Patterns commonly used in Web APIs.

You will have designed websites and backend systems and APIs to a high standard of security, scalability, reliability and operability, experienced in full stack development (UI, API, Service, Storage), with good Understanding of Java Scripts and CSS concepts,and experience in Collaboration Tools such as Trello/JIRA

You will have good understanding of MYSQL Database, experience with code review tools and practices to ensure best practices are followed and code quality gates are achieved, and strong knowledge of SDLC, Git based versioning systems and CI/CD, automatedfunctional and integration tests.

It is desirable that you have an understanding of NoSQL/schema-less architectures, Microservice Architecture, and Azure Cloud Infrastructure, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform. TOGAF knowledge/ Certification is also desirable as well as prior experience of workingin Financial Services.
