This role presents an exciting opportunity to join the Packaged & Speciality team at Sainsbury’s as Senior Buyer for Homebaking, one of the most diverse and broad buying roles within the Grocery division.

You will be a key member of the Packaged & Speciality team, working alongside other buyers in a key category in which many core Grocery items - for example, beans, pasta, rice, sauces, tea & coffee, cereals
- are managed.

The Homebaking buying role contains a varied and interesting range of products, from commodities like flour, sugar, fruits and nuts to more innovative and seasonally driven ranges like cooking ingredients and ambient desserts. With such a broad product set, comes a diverse supply base, from very large, branded suppliers (e.g. Premier Foods) to highly integral own brand suppliers

**As a Senior Buyer you’ll**:

- Know and understand the relevant retail market and category performance
- Develop and execute a customer-centric price and promotional plan in line with corporate strategy
- Identify and negotiate cost savings through brilliant supplier relationship management and understanding of the end-to-end supply chain
- Scope, manage and lead relevant cross functional projects within the buying area through to implementation
- Work effectively with the range analysts to build a product range architecture that delivers a market-leading commercial advantage
- Work effectively with supply chain and retail teams to deliver strong availability for customers
- Work effectively with the Sainsbury’s brand team to deliver best in class and commercially favourable product development
- Influence key stakeholders across the business to gain engagement and commitment to buying area plans
- Deliver to business targets on sales, profit, value, and range
