**Salary Scale: £27,000-£33,000 per annum**

**What is the purpose of this job?**

This role provides the resource necessary to support the organisation to
- increase compliance with its governance and data protection obligations (its “**Obligations**”);
- Minimise the risks associated with non-compliance to these Obligations. The role will provide support to stakeholders across the business, helping to identify and implement solutions to issues preventing compliance with its Obligations more widely.

**What can I expect to do in this job?**

This isn’t an exhaustive list, but things you can expect to be involved with include:

- Overseeing the completion of Data Subject Requests (DSRs) by the relevant teams within the organisation, providing support where needed.
- Acting as the industry Data Protection Forum’s secretariat, organising and running meetings to help facilitate consistency with how data protection is approached across the industry.
- Supporting the business to ensure governance principles are followed correctly.
- Supporting with the assessment, monitoring and reporting of the organisation’s compliance with its Obligations, and any other obligations as may emerge.
- Developing, implementing and delivering training to the business to increase knowledge of relevant processes and procedures, improving compliance with its Obligations and governance processes.
- Contributing to the maintenance of knowledge, information and support tools relating to RDG’s corporate and governance structures and data protection, ensuring all relevant content is accessible to the business.
- Delivering one-off activities as required to implement new tools or processes for the purpose of continuous improvement towards the organisation’s governance and data protection compliance objectives.

**What experience, skills and knowledge do I need?**
- Good data protection knowledge, with practical experience of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
- An understanding of corporate governance or company secretarial roles
- Excellent attention to detail
- Pro-active, problem-solving attitude
