We are delighted to be working in partnership with Ashford Borough Council - a local authority like no other in the county.
- Working within a busy team this role is to work with the Refugee Resettlement team and partners to promote integration of refugees and other resettled groups into the Ashford Community.
- Key Duties- To conduct welfare checks on vulnerable clients to ensure they are being appropriately safeguarded and where necessary make referrals to agencies.
- To maintain an understanding of the duties required in relation to providing an integration and support package as required by the Home Office and other government departments.
- Carry out on-going assessment of the individual needs to update support plans to promote independence. To include life skills, identification of existing skills to support pathways to employment, education or training while enhancing inclusion in the community.
- Undertake regular support plan review meetings with your line manager to ensure the resettlement of the individual families are progressing and achieving the desired outcomes.
- Undertake regular support plan reviews with individuals and families during home and community visits to ensure they are fully supported to progress and achieve the desired outcomes
- To create and manage the budget for each household on your caseload in line with Resettlement Team procedures and the Home Office financial guidance. Ensure regular updates are provided to your line manager for budget monitoring purposes
- To work with local businesses, volunteer agencies and the community to identify work opportunities and experiences for the client group and in close partnership with the DWP
- Devise and implement a comprehensive Action Plan for welcoming the refugees including preparation prior to arrival, arrival, transportation and initial resettlement.
