**About the Role**

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Appearance and presentation of hotel guest rooms, facilities and public areas.

a.) Oversee and direct inspection procedures to ensure continuously high levels of cleanliness and detail are being maintained.

b.) Oversee and direct general cleaning procedures to ensure the housekeeping staff’s compliance with expected standards for cleanliness and detail.

c.) Personally monitor and inspect public areas, guest rooms and restaurants for cleanliness on a random basis each day.

d.) Responsible for ensuring all rooms meet the required 90% LQA standards on inspection and at all other times

e.) Ensure that floral arrangements meet the correct specifications and standards.

2. Departmental expense control.

a.) Monitor payroll expense to ensure that costs are within budgeted guidelines and are justified based on occupancy.

b.) Monitor and control usage of cleaning and guest inventory as well as laundry chemical inventory to curb waste or unauthorized use expense.

c.) Monitor and control linen stock counts ensure they are maintained to required levels and place order as and when required.

3. Staff Supervision. The Deputy Housekeeper will assist the Head Housekeeper in the following areas:
a.) Direct and coach housekeeping supervisors to maintain and improve upon staff cleaning procedures and cleanliness standards.

b.) Direct and coach general housekeeping staff to ensure housekeeping and laundry product standards are met.

c.) Ensure that all housekeeping and laundry personnel present themselves in a professional and courteous manner when dealing with hotel guests and fellow associates.

d.) Direct and coach Florist to adhere to correct specification and standards expected for delivery of floral arrangements.

e.) Maintain up-to-date and accurate associate records.

f.) Oversee the preparation of timely and thorough staff performance review for general housekeeping and laundry personnel.

g.) Conduct return to work interviews following absence and assist with absence review meetings.

4. Staff Training.

a.) Oversee and direct initial housekeeping training for staff.

b.) Assist in conducting department training meetings to address new policies procedures and associate concerns.

c.) Ensure compliance with all safety and COSHH training standards.

5. Miscellaneous.

a.) The Deputy Housekeeper is responsible to follow-through on any duties as assigned by the Head Housekeeper.

b.) The Deputy Housekeeper is responsible for Manager on Duty shift coverage as assigned by the Manager

**RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS**

Supervisory Relationships:
1. The Deputy Housekeeper reports directly to the Head Housekeeper. The housekeeping department reports into the Hotel Manager

Organisation Relationships:
1. Maintain functional relationships with all other hotel departments.

2. Develop and maintain relationships with external suppliers.

**Salary**

This a permanent position working 40 hours per week, over a flexible shift pattern and will include an element of weekend working. A competitive salary of £33,000 gross per annum depending on experi
