School Counsellor

Victoria Primary School is looking to appoint a school counsellor. First-time visitors to Victoria Primary School are always surprised: we are a culturally diverse inner-city estate school where our team’s high academic expectations are evident and our pupils are obviously eager to learn. This position offers a rare and exciting opportunity to join a committed and friendly team of professionals who expect to support and challenge each other to secure the very best for all of our children.

We are looking for a person who:

- has a proven track record of providing, or the desire to develop a highly effective school counselling service
- can naturally and confidently engage children of all backgrounds
- genuinely wants to work collegially to improve their own practice and that of their colleagues
- loves education and the rewards of working with children

The counsellor we appoint can expect to:

- be an equal member of a very forward-thinking staff team
- be an important member of the school’s pastoral team
- be supported by - and / or contribute to - personalised coaching and action research.
- counsel diverse, outgoing and friendly children
- receive dedicated CPDL entitlement
- engage with ongoing development and support through the Nova Education Trust and the Torch Teaching School Alliance
