**Early Years Educator Apprenticeship (Level 2) - Lewsey Nursery**

**About the employer**:
Our well-establishednursery provides excellent care and education for children aged 4 months to 5 years all year around, excluding bank holidays.

**Overview of role**:
The role of the early years practitioner would be responsible for supporting children with their physical care routines, learning and development through planning and implementing activities, play opportunities and experiences. Provide a safe, nurturing and enabling environment for children to thrive in and work closely with parents/carers, colleagues and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for our children and their families.

**Key details**:

- Hours: Monday to Friday (8am to 4pm, 37.5 hours per week)
- All Year Round (52 weeks per year)
- Wage: £6.40 per hour
- Location: Radnor Road, Luton, Bedfordshire, LU4 0UG

**Apprenticeship details**:

- Qualification: Level 2 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard
- Duration of course: 16 months
- Training Provider: LMP Education (Rated in top 10 of UK providers)
- All learning delivered online/ remotely alongside role.

**Full Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To deliver an outstanding standard of learning, development and care for children aged between 0 to 5 years.
- To ensure that the nursery is a safe, welcoming environment for children, staff and others.
- To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress.
- To develop strong partnerships with parents/carers to increase involvement in their child’s development.
- Ensure that you attend to the all-round daily needs of the children by enhancing
their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development.
- To ensure displays are changed regularly and in line with themes and seasons.
- To assist children with personal care, including changing nappies, assisting with toileting and other associated welfare duties.
- To promote good order and good behaviour of the children.
- To action and monitor all child safeguarding / protection issues / accidents to ensure that any remedial action is taken immediately. Ensure close monitoring of children about whom there are concerns.
- Ensure resources, toys and equipment are organised, stored correctly, cleaned regularly and any breakages reported to the Head of Early Years.
- To clean obvious marks or spillages (doors, floors, walls etc) as soon as they happen, within reason.
- To provide simple first aid, when necessary, and ensure Accident and Incident books are maintained correctly

**Skills & Personal Qualities**:

- Enthusiastic, and have a genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, committed, and punctual
- Professional, organised, and attention to detail
- Previous experience working with children is desirable, but not essential
- Confidence in your own ability to want to learn and develop

**Qualifications Requirements**:

- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) English (Grade 4) essential
- GCSE or equivalent (Functional skills) Maths (Grade 4) essential
