**Reed Brighton is looking for an exceptional Property Management Accountant to join their client in managing the finances of their portfolio of clients owning properties in Brighton and Hove, and the surrounding area.**

You will be a key member of the team, reporting to the Accounts Team Manager and providing outstanding customer service to clients, as well as support a team of property managers. The role is suitable for someone who has at least five years’ experience ofaccounting within the property sector, and is committed to developing their career further. Initially the job will include participating in the postings, routines and database updates required on a day-to-day basis, alongside initiation into the more complextasks.

**Competencies**:

- Excellent technical accounting skills with the ability to achieve the following after training:
a. Monthly reconciliation of all client money held between ledger and bank accounts, agree all control accounts.
b. Ability to produce P & L and Balance Sheets for property service charges.
c. Ability to assess the accounting requirements of new properties and ensure an appropriate structure is set up.
d. Reconciling funds received from previous managing agents
- Assist and support accounts team in resolving problems and difficulties
- Problem-solving skills and ability to tackle and resolve a wide range of issues both accounting and process-based.
- Ability to manage accounts staff.
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and leaseholders.

**Qualifications & experience**:

- A good standard of education is essential.
- Excellent communication skills - written, and verbal, presentation of information.
- Good knowledge of Excel.
- Knowledge of Qube is preferred.

**Key responsibilities after training and development will include**:

- Control and responsibility for large volume of client money
- Ensuring timely completion of all daily, weekly, monthly and annual accounts processes
- Awareness of and ensuring adhesion to the regulatory frameworks of RICS and ARMA
- Where appropriate, developing department systems to improve efficiency and satisfy expectations of clients and leaseholders
- Control and maintenance of property management database (Qube) - non IT tasks
- Recruitment and training of staff

These are the key responsibilities of the role. There will be other general duties associated with the position.

Office location: Central Brighton

Full time: Monday to Friday 9.00am - 5.30pm in the office.

Salary range: £39000- £42000 dependent upon experience.
