We're looking for a _Lead Driller_ to join the Auger Team, covering North London and the surrounding areas.

**_ The role_**

As a Lead Driller, you will be independently completing geotechnical investigations on-site for our customers. You will use a hydraulic drilling rig and have experience of undertaking soil sampling up to depths of 8m using modular equipment. Some of the domestic properties that we work at have difficult access arrangements, so good communication and great problem-solving skills are essential to overcome unforeseen challenges. You'll be responsible for caring for our customers on-site, so excellent customer care is vital - you'll need to confidently talk the customer through the investigations to leave them with reassurance and peace of mind. Our dedicated in-house Technical Support Team will be there at all times to help with any issues you may face whilst on the job, from technical problems to vehicle and kit requirements.

**_ Preferred experience_**
- Detailed use of soil investigation rigs and equipment including percussion drilling rigs and modular systems.
- Understanding of soil sampling and different soil types.
- Basic understanding of footing details of buildings.
- Use of hand augers to take samples up to 3m deep by hand.
- Use of CAT scanner in order to identify buried services and to trace/locate the drainage system by use of sonde.
- Use of a Pearpoint CCTV system to CCTV survey drains within an area of concern.
- Leading a team of two and supporting an assistant engineer to learn the role.
- Reinstatement of various different domestic surface types including; paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, concrete, etc.
