**Head of Data Engineering**:

- Azure - London

Head of Data Engineering with excellent Azure, Data pipelines, Data architectures, Agile, REST APIs & programming experience (ideally C#, Python or Java) is required by a global company. You must have experience of managing a team of Data Engineers to stepinto this head of role.

You will sit on the senior leadership team for the wider business; building relationships and technical know-how as you go.

They offer flexible working, with a lot of home working if required.

**_Experience required -_**
- Leading a team of Data Engineers
- Deep knowledge of SQL, Azure Cloud based data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
- Experience working with distributed data processing frameworks such as Spark in cloud-based environments.
- Experience working with large data sets, data pipeline and workflow management tools, Azure cloud services, REST APIs and stream-processing systems.
- A track record managing the delivery of technology solutions, including hardware & software integration, to time, cost, and quality, with a keen eye for risk and opportunity management.
- Experience working in an agile environment or organizations with an agile culture.
- Background in programming in Python, Scala, or Java (Python preferred).
- Help the data engineer team to achieve their potential through active technical leadership and coaching.
- Set up best practice data engineer capabilities and processes including automated testing, version control, and CI/CD in a cloud-based environment.
- Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources, recommending best practice and ways in implement improvements in data quality reliability and efficiency throughout.
- Ensure data architecture and data pipelines allow scaled deployment of the final product.
- Create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members.
