**Role**
Active Outreach presents an exciting opportunity within the Havering borough and are currently seeking a mentor to join our team to deliver a learning support programme to help students reach their full potential. At Active Outreach we are much more than just providing education; we provide personalised support and guidance to our students, creating a nurturing and inclusive learning environment by supporting leaners up to the age of 25. We assist students with their academic and personal development through innovative education and providing a holistic approach to positively impact social and emotional wellbeing as well as learning.

**Responsibilities and Duties**

You will work with students on a one-to-one basis in their home or either a nearby library and may have up to 2-3 students on your caseload. As a mentor, you will motivate and inspire your students and provide support where it is needed around their studies as well as socially and emotionally. Importantly you will provide encouragement and support in helping children and young people to build self-confidence within community engagement, life skills and wellbeing. In this role your working hours will be from Monday to Friday term time only.

You do not need to have prior experience working with students, as long as you are passionate about education and committed to making a positive impact on the development of young people. It is important to have good English, Maths, and IT skill. As an mentor, you should be self-motivated, empathetic, creative, dependable, and act as a positive role model for your students.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: £16.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

**Education**:

- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
