Transport Clerk

We are looking for an experienced transport clerk to oversee everyday interactions with customers renting or returning trailers.
To qualify for this role you **MUST** hold a valid, clean UK driving license.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Meet and greet our customers, either returning trailers/renting trailers
- Escort drivers to local respective yards and rent out trailers on PDA
- Carry out a full check of the trailer via PDA obtaining final signature and obtaining images of any pre-existing damage
- Upon return of a trailer all new damage must be identified and customer to sign for accordingly via PDA
- Update internal daily google sheets of movements in/out of all trailers
- Answering telephones during peak periods
- Ensure the customer experience a high level of customer service at all times
- Ensure all yards are no at maximum capacity and managers are kept inform if this occurs and any other issues
- A good understanding of HGV trucks and trailers is an advantage but not essential.
**Reports Directly To**: Operations Manager / Managing Director
**Salary**: Competitive. Based on experience.
**Hours of work**: Monday - Friday 08:00 - 17:30 with 1 in 4 Saturday morning rota from 08:00 - 12:00.
**Holiday**: 20 days holiday plus all bank holidays.
**Loyalty Bonus**: After 2 years of service (1 day additional holiday and up to an extra 5 days after 7 years).
