**Allstaff Recruitment** are currently seeking a **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** based in **Bedford** for a well-established local engineering company.

**Salary**: £40,000 per annum
**Location**: Bedford
**Type of Contract**: Permanent, Full-time.
**Hours**: Monday - Thursday 8:15am - 4:45pm, Friday 8:15am - 1:45pm.

As the **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer** your role will involve the following important duties:

- Translate design specifications into product design, oversee the preparation of manufacturing drawings, contractual submittals, procedures, testing and analytical design reports.
- Preparation of new conceptual designs, design modifications, reports, and new product proposals to require the development of drawings, models and hydraulic designs from in-house CAD software including FEA and CFD.
- Client technical support assistance to end-users in the installation, operation and maintenance of the company's manufactured equipment.
- Provide manufacturing technical support workshop and manufacturing suppliers.
- Work closely with test personnel.
- Coach and develop graduate and lead engineers.

As a successful **Senior Mechanical Design Engineer**you will have the following:

- Qualified to HNC/HND or equivalent in a Mechanical Engineering discipline.
- 6+ years' experience of mechanical engineering design and analysis in the field of industrial rotating machineries such as pumps, turbines, or compressors.
- Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings.
- BOM input and management.
- Excellent knowledge of a 3D Mechanical design software package i.e. Solidworks, 2D CAD or AutoCAD.
- Proficient using Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Projects.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
