**Aquatic Ecologist / Senior Ecologist**

**Location**

Perthshire or Glasgow plus hybrid working

**Salary / Benefits**: £25,000 - £38,000 dependant on level of experience plus:

**The Company**
A fast growing Environmental Consultancy specialising in ecology and hydrology, have an expanding order book, particularly in Aquatic Ecology and are seeking Ecologist to Senior Ecologist grade professionals with experience in Aquatic Ecology to expand their team of consultants.

**The Position**:
**On a day-to-day basis the requirements of the post would involve**:

- Scoping and Project Management of a range of small to medium-scale Projects;
- Building/maintaining relationships with Clients;
- Business generation and promotion of the business to new clients;
- Negotiating with statutory agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders on behalf of Clients;
- Provide assistance to the Director to build a sub-contractor network and recruit for like-minded Environmental Consultants;
- Project resource planning and financial reporting;
- Maintaining the company reporting standards and developing your own Professional Development; and
- Operating at all times in accordance with the CIEEM/IEMA/CIWEM/IFM Professional Code of Conduct.

**We would like to hear from you if you**
- Have a minimum of 3 years consultancy experience with a high level of technical competence in any ecological specialism but ideally aquatic ecology.
- Conversant with the framework of legislation and guidance within which we practice consultancy in the UK.
- Accurate record-keeping and good project and budgetary management skills
- Driving licence suitable for the UK (required)

**Essential Knowledge/ Experience/ Skills**
- Full and valid driving licence;
- Experience in professional consultancy and advanced understanding of the EIA process and methods;
- Appropriate professional membership;
- Holder of a CSCS or EMSS Safety Passport card; and

**Desirable but not Essential**
- SFCC Team Lead Electrofishing qualification;
- NatureScot FWPM Licence;
- Experience with microinvertibrates;
- Experience with aquatic flora;
- Holder of a CSCS or EMSS Safety Passport card;
- LANTRA 4x4 training
- Emergency Outdoor First Aid
