To help manage the day-to-day running of the Tubestation cafe.

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager and supervisors you would be comfortable in the kitchen as well as the front of house and coffee area. This includes keeping the indoor seating area beautiful, tidy, functional and safe. Making sure the menus and signage are up to date and being the first friendly face our customers and guests are greeted with. Tubestation is unique as you aren’t required to buy anything to use the inside or outside space and in fact you can bring your own.

This job looks really different depending on the season. In the winter months of Nov - March you will be part of a small team and largely managing yourself. You will open the building, check the room is safe and clean (in case it's been used since the Cafe was last open), and you'll complete all the opening checks and tasks. You will welcome the visitors, take orders at the till, send the kitchen any food orders, serve cake, make coffees and serve to tables.

In the Summer season, you’ll do all of the above plus be part of a team and be given a more focused role.

In all seasons you’ll make sure to set and maintain high standards across the board. Customers, visitors and guests will always know what they can expect. motivated and able to complete tasks in good time.

**Organisation context**: Tubestation is a registered charity and a working Methodist church. Our trustees, staff and community aims to use the resources at its disposal to be a Christian presence within surf culture, and provide leisure facilities for young people and create a safe and inclusive space for all people who walk through our doors. The cafe team provides an invaluable role in the everyday persona, identity, and of the running of our community and building.

**Responsibilities**:

- Areas of responsibility -_
- Visitor experience - daily monitoring of the whole café visitor environment (cleaning checks, layout, posters, leaflets, books, magazines, toys, games, music, visuals, AV equipment, fire and logs) ensuring that first impressions are excellent and the whole visitor experience is excellent in all areas at all times of the day and week.
- Calibration and set up of coffee machines
- Helping prep food menu
- Thorough cleaning
- General maintenance of the whole café environment, including kitchen equipment maintenance, repairs and replacement. To care for tubestations property and equipment and alert the Tubestation Property Team when an issue with the site arises.
- Help ordering cafe stock, in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager's stock taking.
- Timely set-up, shut-down and lock-up procedures for the whole site
- Site security and safekeeping of all valuable items
- Customer service from taking orders to clearing tables and all front-of-house duties
- Efficient management of drinks
- Making sure coffee equipment is in good working order and cleaned daily

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 20-40 per week

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Wadebridge: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Barista experience: 1 year (preferred)
- Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)
- customer service: 1 year (preferred)
