**Introduction**

Bodmin Way is the social enterprise for the Bodmin Team Ministry of Churches. Its activities are delivered in Bodmin and in support of the surrounding villages of Cardinham, Lanhydrock, Lanivet and Nanstallon. We also have close connections with projects in Wadebridge and Camelford.

Through its programmes Bodmin Way is improving the wellbeing of local people. We are a fun team, doing amazing work in our communities and making a positive difference to people’s lives.

We provide a range of activities which are publicised on our website and social media pages.

Bodmin Way is growing quickly and is approaching a very exciting period with new projects launching. We have a vacancy for a new team member to grow our brand awareness, develop and deliver marketing and communications and assist with promoting and delivering events.

The employment will be hybrid working, with regular attendance at team meetings and for events and activities likely to be around one third of the time, and an appropriate home working environment for the desk element of the role likely to be around two thirds of the time.

**The key tasks are**:
**Marketing**
- Modernise our websites and maintain content frequently.
- Increase reach and engagement across a wide range of platforms and publications.
- Be custodian of the Bodmin Way brand, develop our brand guidelines and oversee that all published materials adhere to these.
- Produce appealing graphic design materials for print, digital, merchandise and other materials.
- Put in place metrics to demonstrate measures of success which reach beyond vanity metrics
- Design and produce annual reports and other key documents.

**Communications**
- Develop, improve and maintain internal communications for the team including the existing team newsletter.
- Identify target audiences and develop and implement new ways to reach them.
- Attend events and activities held locally in Bodmin and around the Bodmin team ministry churches to produce quality stories and articles and photography.
- Research and write copy regular articles for publications, blogs, social media, website.
- Engage with local print and radio media for editorial/advertorial content.
- Collate and publish a monthly calendar of events for St. Petroc’s Church.
- Maintain a marketing and communications plan and calendar.
- Maintain the archive of materials for records and re-use.

**Events**
- Assist in promoting and securing a growing business of venue hire.
- Assist with project managing events from concept to evaluation.
- Assist with operational demands of managing events delivery.

**Supervision and support**
- Support and delegate to volunteers who can help deliver the mar-coms activities.
- Support and supervise any future Apprenticeship role appointed to the mar-coms department.

The post will report to the Team Rector

**Skills Qualifications and Attributes**

**Desirable**

An interest in the work delivered by Bodmin Way for our communities.

Knowledge connected to this area of Cornwall, and/or activities which take place here.

Experience of promoting and organising events.

Experience of delivering marketing campaigns using bulk mail on-line tools

**Essential**

Qualifications in marketing, communications or similar fields of work

Proven ability and able to share examples of own copy writing with compelling messages and images across a variety of media

Attention to detail / quality of distributed communications, especially those distributed externally.

Confident in the use of web CMS for editing content/web design

Skilled in managing social media platforms, content and engagement

Competent in the use of digital editing and design software programs with a creative flair (CANVA) and able to evidence examples of your work.

Use of MS Office.

Experience of managing and developing brands

Good photography and photo/video/reel editing skills

Team player, willing to lean in and support others

Organised, able to manage a demanding workload completing tasks daily, weekly and monthly and working to a plan.

A self-starter, able to work unsupervised and prioritise

Ability to hot desk, and also work from home in a suitable homeworking environment.

The ability to travel to events meetings and activities in and around the Parishes
