The Role

The role is for a time-served Manual Machinist; you will be responsible for building & developing new tools and internal jigs and fixtures for our clients internal manufacturing processes. The client is a leading precision engineering manufacturer supplying into the defence industry.

Manual milling & manual turning using conventional machinery to manufacture & maintain a wide range of tooling and components.

Using your knowledge to review and improve technical drawings/instructions for tooling with the design team.

Repairs and maintenance to existing tools.

Mechanical fitting of components into new projects to advance production.

You will ideally be a time-served Manual Machinist. It is essential that you have several years of experience in manufacturing & maintaining tooling and components with conventional milling & manual turning machines. You will preferably have experience in working with a variety of metal materials & ideally will have a background in supplying into the defence industry - although other industry experience will be equally considered.
- Highly skilled in manual milling, manual turning and fitting to exact measurements.
- Previous spark erosion experience would be advantageous.
- Previous experience working with electro-pneumatic equipment would be advantageous.
- Must be time-served to City & Guilds/Fully Indentured Apprenticeship standards.
