The **Yard Operative** is a vital role of our branch as it ensures yard operations are carried out efficiently, effectively and above all else, safely, whilst encompassing our customer first culture.

**What will I be doing in the role**:

- Serving customers face to face, providing the highest possible service and care.
- Preparing orders for collection & delivery and ensuring sales documentation is completed.
- Maintaining stock levels
- Loading and unloading vehicles both manually and with a forklift truck _(training provided_)
- Make sure all goods inwards are checked and put away in the correct location.
- Be responsible for personal and workplace health and safety and observe regulations in relation to the Health and Safety at Work Act. (_PPE provided_)
- Any other duties as may be deemed necessary to ensure business objectives are met.

**Working Hours**: Monday to Thursday 7:30 am - 5pm, Friday: 7:30am - 4pm, alternate Saturdays 8am-12pm

**Suitable Applicants will ideally have the following skills and experience**:

- Proven experience working in a similar role and environment.
- Experience in a customer facing role, customer advice.
- Experience operating a Fork Lift Truck
- Understanding of timber and general building products
- Methodical, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- Good communication skills and a team player.
- Experience driving 3.5t vans and FLTs would be extremely beneficial to the role
