**Job description**
**Background**
- The role holder will provide high quality and dedicated advice, guidance and support to undergraduate and postgraduate students within the Faculty to enable positive engagement and promote student success. They will work closely with academic staff and professional service support functions, including Faculty Administration, Quality and Operations.
**The Role**
- The role holder will deliver a timely and accurate administration service in line with University regulations and external stakeholder requirements, as necessary. They will work proactively, within their team, led by the Team Leader (Academic Administration) and under the direction of the Faculty Manager (Academic Administration)/ Faculty Manager (Academic Administration and Operations) to ensure the delivery of administrative support for the academic programmes of study, at all levels and modes of study.
- The role holder will be required to communicate University policies and procedures with a range of key stakeholders in a confident and assured manner. The ability to create and maintain networks to enhance the student experience is a key function of the role.
- They will work closely with the Programme Team under the direction of the Faculty Manager (Academic Administration) to ensure a coordinated approach across the Faculty. The post holder will work to promote good practice and consistency in implementing improvements to the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Whilst not a supervisory position, Programme Support Officers are expected to undertake transactional work of a more complex nature and to support team leaders in coordinating local work flow by ensuring activities are prioritised to best meet business needs. They are expected to act upon their own initiative and are required to be solution focused in addressing tasks allocated from Team Leaders or Faculty Managers.
**Person**
- You will be educated to GCSE standard or an equivalent qualification with experience of providing direct support in a professional office or similar environment and will have well developed skills in Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Outlook). Knowledge of the HE sector and the student journey would be desirable.
