West Lakes Academy are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and self-motivated person to join the Learning Support Team. This is a key role in providing a welcoming and safe environment for staff, students and visitors.

To provide support and guidance to students by removing barriers to learning in order to promote effective participation, enhance individual learning, raise aspirations and help students to achieve their full potential.
- Be well-organised
- Be self-motivated with excellent communication skills
- Driven to support students to achieve their best
- Have relevant Level 3 qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Appropriate Level 2 in both English and Maths at grade C or above

Main duties

1. Assess the needs of students and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support students’ learning

2. Establish productive working relationships with individual and groups of students, acting as a role model and setting high expectations

3. Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom

4. Assist students to make a successful transfer between educational establishments and transition at key stages in their learning, contributing to the comprehensive assessment of students when they join the academy

5. Promote independence and employ strategies to recognise and reward achievement of self
- reliance

6. Provide feedback to students in relation to progress and achievement

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £21,968.00-£23,620.00 per year
