We are working with a longstanding client of ours in the Leeming Bar area who are looking for a Purchase Ledger clerk to join their Accounts Payable team.

On offer is a competitive salary as well as hybrid working, with the option to work from home a couple of days per week should you wish.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Ensure all supplier and Intercompany documents (including purchase invoices, employee expense claims, credit notes etc.) are processed accurately and timely
- Review and check expense claim forms for coding, accuracy and VAT before processing and liaise with employees where corrections are needed
- Ensure that Supplier statement reconciliations are completed on a timely basis and that all reconciling items are resolved
- Ensure supplier account queries are resolved speedily and effectively
- Keeping the system up to date and dealing with new invoices received on a daily basis
- Ensure where claims are made against VAT that they are legitimate and in accordance with Customs and Excise rules
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the supplier database
- Distribute the daily post as necessary
- Scanning of supplier statements & bank details
- Ad hoc duties as deemed necessary by the Sales & Purchase Ledger Manager
- As part of the team you are required to provide cover/support to other team members in times of absences
**Experience/Skills Required**:

- Good understanding of the workings of an Accounts Payable department.
- Good Excel spreadsheet skills.
- Working knowledge of Internet Banking.
- Good numeracy skills
- The person must also have an ability to work independently

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £22,000.00-£24,000.00 per year
