To be responsible for approving the quality of raw and incoming materials and for final inspection. To also ensure there are no faults in either the materials or the manufacturing process, as well as maintaining records to meet traceability and certification requirements.

**KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure parts are inspected without causing unnecessary impact to the continuity of production, including examination of critical incoming materials or components on a routine basis and rejection of those that are unsuitable.
- Management of inspection documentation, ensuring all incoming parts have relevant records kept satisfying quality requirements.
- Providing assistance to all departments by measuring sample parts for investigations and completion of relevant reports where necessary.
- Ensuring suspect parts are segregated in the Quarantine location.
- Measurement of new sample parts to ensure drawing requirements are being met prior to parts being introduced into production, with records maintained and samples stored in designated locations.
- Be responsible for the disposal of non-conforming product and ensuring suspect parts are segregated in the Quarantine location.
- Perform Inspections on finished products, ensuring records are maintained to meet traceability and compliance requirements.
- Participate fully and cooperate with all product, company, system and compliance audits (internal and external)
- Identify and implement appropriate improvements in assembly processes, as well as in the inspection function
- Monitor and report on issues discovered during Inspection to drive continuous improvement.
- Undertaking internal audits to ensure compliance to regulatory standards.
- Undertake testing on incoming parts and ensuring all relevant measuring equipment is calibrated and the relevant records are kept up to date.
- **Health**, **Safety and Environmental duties** - all employees have the duty to ensure the health safety and welfare of themselves, others and the environment

**EXPERTISE REQUIRED**:

- Close attention to detail is essential.
- The ability to prioritise tasks and manage own workload is essential
- Understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances is desirable
- Experience of using measurement software and equipment is desirable.

The Job Holder is responsible for all Health, Safety and Environmental Duties as listed in the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policy.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Good standard of math’s, English & science (i.e. GCSE grade C or above / equivalent)
- PC Literate - good use of Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint and other software packages
