**Job Title: Cable Jointer (Telecoms)**
**Location**: Glasgow

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Splice and joint telecommunications cables, including fibre optic, copper, and coaxial cables, according to engineering plans and specifications.
- Terminate cables by connecting them to various types of connectors, ensuring proper alignment and secure connections.
- Install cables in underground conduits, aerial lines, and within buildings, adhering to safety regulations and company standards.
- Perform tests using specialized equipment to verify the integrity and functionality of cable connections, troubleshoot issues, and make necessary repairs.
- Conduct routine maintenance on cable joints, terminations, and infrastructure to prevent degradation and ensure optimal performance.
- Respond to service calls to repair damaged cables, joints, or connectors, minimizing downtime and restoring connectivity.
- Maintain accurate records of cable installations, splicing procedures, test results, and repairs for documentation and future reference.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and follow safety procedures when working with electrical cables and equipment.
- Collaborate with team members and other stakeholders to coordinate work activities, ensure project deadlines are met, and support overall network operations.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- ECS
- IPAF
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in telecommunications or cable jointing is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Telecoms Cable Jointer or similar role, with a demonstrated ability to splice, terminate, and install telecommunications cables.
- Strong knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, cable types, splicing techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in using specialized tools and equipment for cable jointing, termination, and testing.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues promptly.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Attention to detail, with a focus on quality and safety in all work activities.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites as needed.
