**The Role**

We’re looking for an Airspace Specialist (Engagement and Consultation) to join our team. Your main focus will be to provide regulatory support to the Airspace Regulators (Engagement and Consultation) and across all Airspace Regulation activities, in providing role-related guidance and assessment on airspace change proposals.

In addition to that supporting and assisting the Airspace Regulators (Technical) and Account Managers in respect of the regulatory assessment of airspace change proposals in accordance with the airspace change process.

**About You**

**Essential**: The job holder will:

- Maintain a good general knowledge of developments in aviation and where required assist in the formulation of UK policy in the areas for which the section is responsible.
- Be able to rapidly establish personal credibility with technical specialists and develop constructive relationships, with effective communication skills both written and oral in engaging with contacts at all levels throughout the CAA and externally.
- Have high level of commitment, reliability, and flexibility, and be an excellent team worker with sound interpersonal skills.
- Have the ability to work with minimum supervision and possess strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Possess good verbal and extremely good written communications skills.
- Possess good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplined team.
- Have experience of MS Office packages specifically Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook

**Desirable**: The job holder will:

- Have experience from within the ATM environment and/or aviation environment more generally.
- Have a good knowledge of the CAA and UK aviation industry supported by an understanding of key legislative factors influencing and determining the CAA’s role as an airspace regulator e.g., the Civil Aviation Act, Air Navigation Order, Rules of the Air Regulations, relevant sections of the Transport Act, the Air Navigation Order 2001, the DfT’s Air Navigation Guidance and the appropriate MAA Regulatory Publications
- Have awareness of national and international ATM regulatory bodies and their interaction
- Have awareness of the environmental impact of aviation and strategies and actions to mitigate these

You’ll work in a dynamic environment - no ACP submission and assessment are the same as the last You’ll regularly interact with the wider team, gaining their input from a technical, economic, and environmental perspective. This will enable you to gain exposure of other related areas and to develop a broad understanding beyond the engagement and consultation space. You’ll get to work on several major airspace change proposals linked to the delivery of the UK’s Airspace Modernisation Strategy, as well as those related to new and emerging technologies.

**Additional Information**

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

To be vetted you must have the right to work in the UK so that meaningful checks can be undertaken.
