Head of Piping

On the back of multiple successes within our growing Major Projects division, we’re looking for a Head of Piping to continue to drive project delivery across our diverse portfolio including Oil & Gas, Renewables, Carbon Capture and Pharmaceutical. It's an opportunity to have a major impact on a number of groundbreaking projects and help to shape the future of the industries in which we work.

You will be a senior expert within our business, providing technical and project leadership across engineering disciplines. You will be responsible for the development and execution of multi-discipline projects, acting as companywide expert/Technical Authority within our Piping function, becoming an expert on internal procedures (WIs and BOPs) as well as external best practice. You will deploy your advice and expertise within the piping discipline and will be the escalation point for unusually complex problems which have a significant impact on business priorities and results.

You will need to exercise considerable latitude in leading within your area and use advanced techniques and innovations to develop solutions to complex problems. You will be a confident lead on the technical customer interface and be responsible for decision making in relation to customer piping engineering requirements, being the “go-to" contact for our customers in terms of delivery.

**Role & Responsibility**:
1. Execution: Manage the piping input on multi-discipline projects, utilising people, financial and technical resources as effectively and efficiently as possible in order to ensure the overall delivery of the project is on time and within budget. You will also ensure all project execution is in line with the company’s risk management framework and have overall accountability in this area.
2. Governance: Act as the lead governance expert on the project, ensuring compliance with all procedures including technical standards, legislation and change/control management practices to ensure projects are being maintained and to provide oversight and guidance in all related matters.
3. Innovation: Develop a culture of continuous improvement by capturing industry best practice (codes and standards) and providing leadership in product innovation.
4. Communication: Manage the relationship with our customers, assessing their requirements and translating this, in line with the associated legal requirements, into an overall project plan and related documentation.
5. People Development: Grow the piping engineering project talent pool by considering current and future talent requirements and providing on the job training, development and mentoring opportunities across the team in order to grow capability.

**Job Requirement**:
1. BSc/BEng in a discipline appropriate to one or more Engineering, Science or Technical specialisms is essential. Accredited post graduate training that would satisfy the requirements of professional registration (e.g. CEng) of a professional institution (e.g. IMechE)
2. Extensive and appropriate experience in one or more Piping Engineering disciplines with a proven record of achievement.
6. Extensive knowledge of wider industry and applicable standards (including an understanding of general issues that prevail in the industry)
