An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic & well-motivated new/recently qualified Dietitian to join our friendly team. This post provides an excellent opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience.
You will be joining a supportive team of Dietitians; Dietetic Assistant Practitioner; Dietetic Assistants and administrative staff responsible for providing a service across social and health care boundaries. You will
work closely with our established team of Dietitians and other MDT colleagues in both acute and primary care.

The post, based at Queen Victoria Centre, Morecambe offers both Out patient and Community experience. With the support of experienced Dietitians you will have the opportunity to work across a wide range of patient groups’ and specialities in a number of different environments e.g. clinic, care homes and patient's own homes. Opportunity to work within acute team to further your Dietetic experience will be available.

You will be based at Queen Victoria Hospital, Morecambe and will require being able to travel to other sites, clinics, patient homes and Care Homes within the area.

The post holder will work independently as an autonomous
practitioner at newly qualified or experienced Band 5 level,
depending on experience, providing flexible and patient centred
care.
To be responsible for managing a caseload of routine work
appropriate to Band 5 knowledge, skill level and experience.
The post holder will take responsibility for the management of their
own caseload with the opportunity for guidance and supervision
appropriate to experience, whilst continuing to develop core
Dietetic clinical skills, knowledge and experience as identified in the
post holder’s Performance and Development Plan (PDP)
Flexible working to support Dietetic service delivery using basic Dietetic core knowledge and skills is encouraged. Opportunities for extending your skills across other clinical areas will be supported where appropriate. There is opportunity to seek advice from both Specialist Dietitians (Band 6) and Advanced Dietitians (Band 7) with specialist / advanced clinical knowledge and experience when required.
You will use your knowledge and skills to support the learning and development of MDT colleagues and contribute towards updating protocols and resources.

You will be encouraged to develop your skills as a Clinical Educator supporting, with others, undergraduate Dietetic students. We are approved trainers for Placements 1, 2 & 3.

We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay
