Accountants will sometimes say that it doesn't matter if they are accounting for a prestigious luxury brand or a widget manufacturer, that accounts are accounts, and if that is the case, this might not be the role for you as this is a real opportunity for youto use your financial accounting skills to indirectly support some of our most vulnerable people in the local community working as a Finance Manager for a complex charity based in Leeds.
What you'll be doing:
You'll be comfortable working across routine financial accounting tasks such as key account controls, reconciliations and accruals / prepayments, in the preparation of the statutory annual accounts, but also able to input proactively to the creation of financialmodels.
You'll be a supportive leader who will develop and challenge your staff to perform to their very best and will manage the performance of a small team of 2 people.
You'll be leading on Financial Reporting, including annual statutory accounts and all other financial reporting to external organisations, such as funders, lenders, HMRC and the Office of National Statistics.
There is plenty of scope to add value and make a positive impact by developing the reporting, controls and processes within the team and this could include developing processes and financial systems.
What you'll need to offer:
As an experienced finance professional you'll have honed your experience across a range of accounting areas and be comfortable with financial accounting tasks such as balance sheet reconciliations, managing the year end process including communication withauditors and data analysis experience.
You will be a fully qualified accountant with any of the following qualifications or equivalent - CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA or ACA (ICAEW, ICAS, ICAI)
You'll have a track record of positive leadership and management of a team including skills development.
