Housekeeping Room Attendant

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper to join our care home team. As a Care Home Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness will contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of our residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks, including but not limited to, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and disinfecting common areas, resident rooms, bathrooms, and staff areas.
- Ensure that all cleaning activities are carried out in accordance with established protocols, safety guidelines, and infection control procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in resident rooms, ensuring beds are made, linens are changed regularly, and personal belongings are organized.
- Empty trash containers and dispose of waste in a safe and sanitary manner. - Clean and sanitize fixtures, surfaces, and equipment, including furniture, handrails, light switches, and door handles. - Stock and replenish supplies such as toiletries, towels, and cleaning products as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or repair needs to the appropriate personnel. - Respond promptly and effectively to housekeeping requests from residents, their families, and staff members.
- Collaborate with other care team members to ensure a coordinated approach to resident care and support. - Adhere to confidentiality guidelines and maintain resident privacy and dignity at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Atleast 2 Covid19 vaccinations & be able to provide proof of vaccination status.
- Prior experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or care home setting.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment used in healthcare environments.
- Understanding of infection control practices and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and protocols accurately.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents and their families.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift/move objects as required.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as needed.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract
Contract length: 4 weeks
Part-time hours: 12 per week
**Salary**: £11.00 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Bedford, MK40 2PU: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
