Personal Care Assistant for a Young Boy P/t @

**Care Assistant required to support Cole aged 9 years who lives in the Consett area.
The hours per week are: 5 hours during term time and 10 hours school holidays. The hourly rate is £10.50.
Days and times can be arranged at the interview.
Cole is a loving 9 year old boy who loves cuddles and tickle time.
- Cole has low functioning autism, severe learning difficulties and he is non verbal.
- Cole also requires nappies full time.
- Cole loves the outdoors when the weather is just right he doesn't like the wet and cold weather very much.
- Cole loves to run and be in his own little world. Cole also loves swimming and trampoline parks.
- Cole's daily needs include:
- Cole needs help with dressing and putting coat and shoes on
- Cole requires his nappy change frequently
- Cole needs help at meal times, whether it be hand over hand feeding or yourself feeding Cole
- Cole has no sense of his surrounding especially any dangerous situations. Cole requires 24/7 supervision
- Cole requires the use of a wheelchair at all times unless it is safe to walk hand in hand with Cole.
Cole is a very complex little boy. We would prefer to employ someone who has an understanding of autism and learning disabilities, who can stay calm during a melt down and be able to calm Cole down during meltdowns.
- We need someone who can get to understand Coles needs, with Cole being non verbal he can't communicate through speech or any other form of language.
We require the worker to have a driving license and the use of their own car.
- An enhanced DBS will be required, the employer will cover the cost of this.
