Childcare Officer

We are currently working with an Outstanding Residential Special School in Lowestoft, Suffolk which is looking to recruit a Childcare Officer. Our SEN School is looking for an experienced Childcare Officer who has experience working with young people withModerate and Complex Difficulties in Lowestoft, Suffolk
**Childcare Officer Responsibilities**:

- To provide care and support to pupils and families to enable all round development, progress, raise achievement, and improve their health, social development, self-esteem and confidence.
- Contribute to the effective physical, social, and emotional environment for group care which provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment in which children and their families can be offered the support care and guidance they need.
- To contribute to the assessment of individual needs and circumstances and in the development, provision, and review to meet these needs
- To work with children and young people in areas of personal issues, group work, education attendance and achievement, health, and family conciliation work.
- To support pupil’s transitions on entry into and from residence, between residential houses and onto post 16 provisions where appropriate.
- To support Pupil Centred Planning and transition work.

**Childcare Officer Requirements**:

- Experience in residential childcare with children who have educational, emotional, and behavioural needs.
- Recognised behaviour management Training (or equivalent) or willingness to obtain
- Experience working with children and/or the care sector
- Experience in working with young people and/or adults with Moderate and Complex Difficulties
- Available to commit to 2 sleep-ins a week
- Commutable to Lowestoft, Suffolk
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards it.
