**MIS Systems Technician**:
**Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year**
- The college's MIS team is responsible for the management and reporting of learner data to internal and external stakeholders.- We are looking to recruit a Systems Technician who will maintain the databases which provide the foundation for our work, ensure our information management software is up to date with all latest releases, and provide user support to a variety of staff across the organisation.- Key Responsibilities
- 1. **Database Management**
- Manage database access and permissions
- Conduct database maintenance, ensuring backups, maintenance tasks, and scheduled restores are successfully completed
- Review database performance and opportunities for improvement
**2. Installing and Maintaining Software**
- Install any new information management software as required
- Manage and maintain imports and integrations
**3. Staff Training and Support**
- Raise support tickets with software developers where necessary
**4. Professional Development**
- Ensure continued awareness of external funding rules, new funding methodologies, and developments in the sector
- Maintain a good working knowledge of the information technologies employed by the college, and look for opportunities to expand this where possible
**5. MIS Duties**
- Ensure compliance with data protection legislation, including keeping up to date with data protection and other legislative requirements
- Manage, maintain and control learner, funding and curriculum data in order to ensure its accuracy, consistency and completeness
- Identify any areas of risk and escalate to the Head of MIS where appropriate
- Contribute to documentation of information systems, departmental processes, and other relevant areas

- General computing, relational database management systems (ideally SQL Server Management Studio), SQL (ideally T-SQL).
