The Team

The Supply Chain team are at the forefront of the end-to-end operational delivery of the business. From purchasing raw materials, componentry, and product to shipping of finished goods across the globe, and everything in between from planning, stock control and supporting logistics. The Supply Chain team support the company’s goal to be the premier solutions provider for personal care consumer goods. The Buying team harness the purchasing power of the Kdc/one Network to access deliver the best service to our network of customers.

The Role
The Project Buyer supports the sites through purchasing and sourcing activity; getting hands on with customer briefs and identifying best suppliers. The Project Buyer will be hands-on and working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders; obtaining best prices with providers for direct materials, packaging, and componentry for customer projects whether it’s a new product, range extension or a resourcing project.

The supply chain team work collaboratively within the Operational functions, supporting the Production, manufacturing and sales teams to ensure cost effectiveness; the Supply Chain team are at the heart of the business functions and are dedicated to reaching our goals.

What does a typical day look like?
- You will use your interpersonal skills to work cross functionally to understand and identify customer requirements.
- You will use your organisational skills to manage new supplier set-ups and maintain the preferred supplier data and SAP database.
- You will use your attention to detail and prioritisation skills to act on, resolve and escalate any problems or supply delays.
- You will use your interpersonal skills to develop and maintain positive and openly communicative supplier, customer, and colleague relationships, acting as ambassador for the kdc/one Swallowfield brand.

- Excellent analytical skills
- Organised and methodical in your approach
- Excellent communication skills with good stakeholder management
- Experience of working in a purchasing and supply chain management
- Experience of MRP systems (SAP experience would be a distinct advantage)
