**We are looking for a dynamic and committed **Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner **to join the team at Substance Misuse Services at the Surbiton Health Centre, KT6 6EZ**

Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) provides high quality, safe and innovative care to our patients in the community, in their homes or in hospital.

We provide services for adults of working age, adults with learning difficulties, and older people in the London area. We currently deliver most of our care to residents in the London Boroughs of Camden and Islington. However, we also provide substance misuse services in Westminster, and a substance misuse and psychological therapies service to people living in Kingston.

**JOB TITLE: Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner**

**BAND: Band 6 - £19.51ph**

**HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 Hours per week - onsite**

**JOB PURPOSE**

As part of a newly funded initiative to offer an innovative, multi-disciplinary approach to meet the needs of substance using individuals that are hard to engage in treatment in Kingston we are looking to recruit a Criminal Justice Recovery Practitioner to join Kingston Wellbeing Service (KWS).

This post has a key role to play in developing and building on the existing recovery community in Kingston to offer something truly exceptional to all our service users.

Alongside other newly recruited posts focussing on developing our work within the Criminal Justice System this role will take an innovative and ambitious approach to what recovery can mean to individuals and communities in Kingston.

**Essential requirements**:

- Experiences of operating within a substance misuse team
- Experience of working alongside Criminal Justice agencies
- An understanding of the processes and systems used within Criminal Justice agencies
- Initiative
- Problem solving skills
- Creating relationships quickly and effectively

**Roles and responsibilities**:

- Support the development and expansion of Kingston’s recovery community and the Moving on Together (MOT) peer support network, to increase the visibility of recovery and support social integration.
- Significantly build on and develop links with Connected Kingston to offer something truly innovative and ambitious for the local area.
- Work with local recovery orientated organisations recruiting volunteers to create and enhance service users reintegration opportunities both internally and externally.
- Play a key part in using meaningful recovery in the community to support individuals after-care when they leave treatment both in the community and in a residential setting.
- Provide a dedicated resource that can rapidly develop this important work so that there is a broader sustainable network of recovery communities for Kingston service users. This focus on sustainability is a key focus for the role.
- Identify community-based volunteering opportunities for service users; forging meaningful partnerships with existing community projects and organisations; creating important opportunities for service users to engage in ETE development and to build a dynamic service user involvement model for Kingston.
