The post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of specific tasks including a high standard of evidenced based psychological interventions in a safe, efficient, cost-effective manner under the supervision of the Principal Clinical Psychologist. The post-holder will practice in accordance with Health Board standards and professional requirements and operate within the boundaries of the role.

Under structured supervision, the post holder will work within the Health Board to provide groups using cognitive behavioural therapy [CBT] and other evidence based approaches, for clients with mental health difficulties.

This work will be conducted face-to-face and remotely, primarily working with groups. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The post holder will provide a range of interventions, which may include:
Structured psycho-educational groups with an evidence base for a variety of mental health conditions e.g., anxiety management/sleep/depression/ emotional coping skills

Non-pharmacological approaches to emotional regulation or for behaviours which challenge

High volume, low intensity psycho-educational/self-referral courses.

The post holder will assist the psychologist with evaluation of outcomes, piloting quality initiatives, improvement activities and other research / audit / evaluation related to service improvement.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is the planner and provider of NHS healthcare services for people in Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and its bordering counties. Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
