To provide a comprehensive sales and purchase ledger function to the charity and its trading subsidiary. The role holder is responsible for ensuring all purchase ledger invoices are authorised and posted to the ledger in a timely manner in accordance withthe charity’s accounting procedures and financial regulations.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Post purchase invoices and credit notes to the ledger daily including direct debit transactions in accordance with current accounting procedures and financial regulations.
- Administer the purchase ordering system and assist the business practice.
- Post staff expense claims
- Set up new supplier and accounts in line with current accounting procedures.
- Prepare and process weekly and monthly supplier payments files, including distribution of remittance advices.
- Query resolution liaising with suppliers and budget holders.
- Daily electronic filing of paperwork, including scanning processed invoices to attach to purchase ledger.
- Management of inbound post to the department.

**Person Specification**
- Previous experience of purchase ledger accounts
- High level of numeracy and good attention to detail
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths at grade C or above
- Competency in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills combined with self-motivation and enthusiasm
- Good time management skills. With the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with competing priorities.

**Desirable**
- Experience in the use of Iris Financials
- Achievement of/working towardsan accounting qualification (e.g. AAT/CIMA)
