Trainee Printer

Assisting printers in the preparation and production of printed drink coasters and associated items.

Specific tasks include
- Preparing and making printing plates.
- Mixing inks to match specific pantone colours.
- Identifying and mounting paper cutters.
- Checking quality of production with machine operator.
- Changing rolls of paper on machines as required.
- Minor adjustments to machine operation as required, including changing printing plates.
- Remove items from machine when a job is completed (printing plates / cutter / paper as required).

In addition the employee will assist with general factory housekeeping including
- Checking and putting away raw material.
- Manufacture of printing plates.
- Filing negatives.

This is a full time role (37.5 hours per week) and would suit someone looking to start a career in printing. Opportunities are available to progress to a full printer over time.

No specific printing experience is necessary as full training will be given. A reasonable level of literacy and numeracy is required to complete paperwork, mix inks etc.
