**Horton Housing is a not-for-profit Housing Association that manages a wide range of different housing, training and support services across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees and North Yorkshire. We offer support to a variety of people, including those who are homeless or at risk, young people and refugees. We offer accommodation, skills and language support, and use a strength based approach to help the people we support achieve their goals in a manner which works for them.**

We are currently recruiting for a Move On Worker to join our Intensive Housing Management (IHM) service in Calderdale. This is a full time, permanent position. The hours for this post are 35 per week. Calderdale IHM provides accommodation and intensive housing related support to people experiencing a range of personal challenges, who are homeless or who are at risk of becoming homeless

**The role**

The Move-On Support Worker will work alongside the IHM Housing Officer and IHM Manager to ensure that individuals who are ready to move on from the service are supported to access suitable accommodation.

The post holder will also be responsible for assisting individuals with their independent living skills, which will include supporting them to maintain their current accommodation and achieve successful outcomes.

**What we are looking for**
- An understanding or experience of the challenges faced by people going through difficult times e.g. homelessness, ill-health, offending, unemployment etc.
- Understanding of and/or experience of strength-based, person-led approaches to working alongside people.
- Understanding of choice based lettings and the challenges people face in accessing housing.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with people based on transparency, trust and respect.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong partnership working; liaising and working closely with other agencies/organisations to provide holistic support.
- Experience of developing support plans and providing appropriate coaching, advice and guidance would be desirable.
- Ability to be approachable, adaptable and have the ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure. Ability to balance and prioritise a demanding workload.
- Excellent communication, report writing and ICT skills.
- Driving license and vehicle that can be used for business
- Enhanced DBS
