**Salary**: Circa £27,500 per annum
Location: York George Stephenson House
Main Responsibilities
**Some of the key accountabilities of this role are: -**
1. Develop and manage the transactional sourcing process from business requirement to contract signature, on behalf of customers and stakeholders, for low cost and business risk requirements, adding business value through expediting commodity requirements at pace and to the highest quality and accuracy standards
2. Manage the reporting of sourcing spend category-specific data and metrics, working in collaboration with the Procurement Data Analyst and manage an accurate sourcing spend and savings pipeline and profile
3. Manage the process for requesting new supplier registration information onto the portal for approval.
4. Execute the uploading of new supplier contracts onto relevant systems in a timely manner, to manage all TRU Contracts and Procurement (C&P) contractual and regulatory obligations
5. Create periodic, quality reports to capture Sourcing progress and activities. Highlight individual and team successes or where delivery is off-track against team or personal objectives
6. Execute the Pre-Qualification Questionnaire (PQQ) and Invitation to Tender (ITT) phases of a tender process in collaboration with the relevant Sourcing leads, to shape and develop quality tender documents and enhance customer experience, working collaboratively with the relevant Sourcing leads
7. Identify and implement Sourcing-specific continuous improvement initiatives in collaboration with the Procurement Operations team, to improve existing processes and reporting standards, working collaboratively with the Procurement Operations team
8. Support the team with the ensuring compliance with the governance and assurance processes including one up reporting and supporting TRU C&P panel.
9. Undertake full range of procurement activities including obtaining supplier prices, tendering negotiation and purchase order placement.
10. Assist in the procurement of higher value and more complex commodities.
11. Provision of dedicated support to senior staff in commodity area
**We need you to have: -**:

- Strong organisation skillset with a completer finisher mindset
- Excellent analytical skills, to include Microsoft Office experience
- Good interpersonal and relationship building skills
- A customer focused approach
- Experience of a problem-solving capability and strong attention to detail.
- Commercial experience and aptitude.
- Understanding of procurement processes.
**It would be advantageous if you have: -**:
- Detailed knowledge of the UK Rail Industry, including procurement processes in a reclassified environment
- Basic Knowledge of procurement and competition legislation, procurement procedures, processes, systems and controls.
- Membership or training for qualifications in relevant professional institution.

The Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU) is a Programme of activities that is improving the railway between York and Manchester via Leeds and Huddersfield.
Stretching across the North of England, this key 76-mile Transpennine railway serves 23 stations, crosses over and dips under 285 bridges and viaducts, passes through six miles of tunnels, and crosses over 29 level crossings.
Proposed improvements as will deliver a hard-working, reliable railway for passengers, allowing for trains with more seats, more services and faster journey times.
