Applications are invited for a Ward Clerk to join us as part of a job share within our Trauma and Orthopaedic department.

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and friendly ward clerk to join our team. Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

You will be required to provide clerical and administrative duties to support the nursing and medical team. They will need to provide high quality reception duties also, answering telephone and welcoming service users and visitors to the unit. They will use various computer systems including Lorenzo - training will be provided as required.

Ensure accurate data entry to all computer systems. Including Lorenzo system for accurate and timely records of patient admission, discharge and transfer.

Prepare patient documentation in preparation for admissions and discharges. Ensure patient records are maintained and stored securely and confidentiality is adhered to.

Welcome and greet service users and visitors to the unit in a professional and courteous manner.

Maintain a polite manner when answering telephone calls and enquiries. Direct enquiries to appropriate staff members in a timely manner.

Liaise with nursing and medical teams for additional duties required in order to facilitate high quality patient care. Liaise with other wards/units as required.
