Oakwood lofts is a small Loft conversion company based in west sussex but serving roughly a 25 mile radius of Lancing.

We are a highly experienced team of carpenters with over 35 collective years in building loft conversions.

We enjoy the challenge of building the more complex conversions and a lot of our work is of that nature.

We have been established since 2018 and are starting to grow naturally in the number of jobs we are acquiring, therefore we are looking to grow our team and take on highly skilled and motivated loft conversion fitters.

We take as much pride on the 1st fix stage of our lofts as we do the finishing.

**Job description**

Oakwood lofts are looking for highly skilled carpenters with prior experience in building all types of loft conversions.

The Role.

You are expected to complete a loft conversion upto plasting stage, this includes getting all materials into the loft via the scaffold, including steel beams, fitting out the entire loft, being able to fit velux and upvc windows and also stairs. Good knowledge of building all types of conversions would be essential but support will always be available. Being able to read technical drawings.

As part of your role you will be expected to liaise with the clients and keep them up to date with the progress of the loft. Contact subcontractors such as electricians and plumbers when needed along with any skip exchanges.

Keeping the site clean and safe at all times including the scaffolds is paramount. Respect for the clients home is incredibly important.

Absolutely no smoking on site.

Breaks are 30 mins at 10 am, 30 mins at 1pm and 15 mins at 3pm. Your hours of work will be 8.00 til 16.30.

Driving and having your own van is essential as well as having all necessary tools for the job. You must polite, presentable and comfortable communicating with both the client and my staff.

We are looking for highly skilled, free thinking carpenters who enjoy a challenge and are looking to grow within a quickly growing company.

Wages initially will be performanced based. There will be a flat day rate and a length of time to complete the loft. If the 1st fix carpentry is completed ahead of schedule then a bonus payment could be possible. Once we are happy with your work and competence etc, you will have the choice to take the conversions on price.
