We are seeking a person who is passionate about food production and is keen to develop their skills within an ethical local business.
Some prior butchery knowledge or previous kitchen experience is desirable but far more important is the right attitude, enthusiasm and commitment to your own learning. Great, friendly customer service is also extremely important in this role, as you will be customer-facing and will need to be able to engage with customers in a friendly, professional way, as well as learning about our ethos and suppliers.
Staverton has a busy retail counter in a thriving farm shop. The provenance and quality of our meat is very important to us, so we work with trusted local farmers so that we know exactly where our meat comes from, and how the livestock is raised, so that we can tell customers all about it. We also make our own sausages, cure our own bacon, make burgers, meatballs, skewers, meat stocks and seasonal products.
This is a full time role working approximately 40 hours over 5 days, with regular weekend working.
**Person Specification**:
Experience of working in a butchery, catering or other food-handling setting would be an advantage but not essential.
