Renewable Parts is a growing and innovative supply chain partner in the wind energy sector. We offer services including supply chain management, refurbishment, and technical services, as well as supply of spare parts and consumables. Renewable Parts currently work with leading wind farm owners and operators, including RWE Renewables, SSE Renewables and Scottish Power Renewables.
To help with our continued growth and long-term vision, Renewable Parts is looking for a creative and forward-thinking Senior Sourcing Specialistto help us realise our vision for a more sustainable green energy industry.
**The role**
We are seeking a Senior Sourcing Specialist to join the procurement team within our organisation. The Senior Sourcing Specialist will mentor junior members of the team and have responsibility for the performance of the sourcing KPI’s in line with the company policy. The role reports to the Procurement Manager and is part of the Operations Department.
**Key Responsibilities**
The Senior Sourcing Specialist is responsible for implementing and managing the following:
- Provide hands-on mentorship to team members, nurturing their professional growth and fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Conducting comprehensive market research to identify suitable suppliers.
- Initiating contact with potential suppliers to gather relevant information.
- Identifying supply options for customer requests.
- Obtaining and analysing price and lead time information.
- Interfacing with the sales team to strategically source and plan quotation responses.
- Compiling, inputting, and reviewing purchasing data within ERP and other systems.
- Maintaining a well-organised database of approved suppliers.
- Monitoring and reporting on product performance and purchasing activity.
- Providing necessary support to other functions within the Procurement department as required
**Key Requirements**
Essential:
- Knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, whole life cost of components, lead times & repair cycles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Strong focus on accuracy of work and attention to detail.
- Effective time management and strong organisational skills, particularly in managing multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Ability to build and maintain commercially effective relationships with multiple suppliers concurrently.
- Ability to take the initiative and work independently to solve problems by researching solutions.
- Sense of urgency and ability to react quickly.
- A high level of commercial awareness
Desirable:
- Project management skills
- Distribution experience
- Supply chain management experience
- Line management experience
