**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of children's development and progress.
- Provide guidance and support to staff members.
- Plan and organise activities for children in line with the nursery's curriculum.
- Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals.
- Monitor budgets and manage resources effectively.

Pay scale will depend on experience and qualifications.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join Leigh Academy, Trust Longfield. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing additional support to students with special educational needs or those who require extra assistance in their learning journey. Your aim will be to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment, ensuring that all students have equal opportunities to reach their full potential.

**Responsibilities**:
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with learning difficulties, disabilities, or special educational needs.
Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to develop individualized learning plans for students with specific needs.
Assist students in understanding and completing classroom tasks, assignments, and assessments.
Implement strategies and interventions to support students' academic, social, and emotional development.
Foster a positive and encouraging learning atmosphere where students feel safe, valued, and empowered.
Monitor students' progress and maintain accurate records of their achievements and challenges.
Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet student's diverse learning styles and abilities.
Provide assistance during extracurricular activities and school events to ensure the inclusion of all students.
Encourage students to develop self-confidence, independence, and resilience in their learning journey.
Collaborate with parents or guardians, informing them about their child's progress and involving them in the learning process.
Promote positive behaviour and implement behaviour management strategies when necessary.
Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance your knowledge and skills in supporting diverse learners.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Additional certification or training in special education or learning support is advantageous.
Experience working with students with special educational needs or learning difficulties is preferred.
Compassionate and patient nature with a genuine interest in supporting students' development.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to create an inclusive learning environment.
Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the changing needs of students and the educational setting.
Empathy and understanding towards students facing challenges in their learning journey.
Knowledge of various learning support techniques and strategies.
