Continuous Amphibious Readiness is one of the Royal Navy’s key outputs. 47 Commando Raiding Group Royal Marines (47Cdo (RG) RM) delivers support to the Commando Force’s amphibious capability. Within 47Cdo, 11 Squadron, based at RM Instow, enables this with the trials and development of amphibious equipment that is at the forefront of Future Commando Force, and delivering specialist amphibious training on a variety of vehicles and boats to project and sustain forces from the sea. The Storekeeper ensures that we can meet our objectives by providing the Logistical Support functions to the HQ, Accommodation cell, Training Dept & Amphibious Trials and Development Wing. This evolving, fast paced, customer facing position is vital to enable us to deliver current and future operations in an efficient manner.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.

**Job description**:
The Storekeeper supports the Stores Dept with provision of essential logistic support functions underpinning the outputs of 11 Sqn. Main duties involve:
To action the receipt and returns, safe custody and issue of serviceable stores including calibrated items, to 11Sqn Departments, visiting courses and external Agencies, maintaining stock levels and records in accordance with relevant directives
- To place and progress orders for items of stores equipment for 11Sqn using the MJDI (Management of the Joint Deployed Inventory) system and from Contractors.
- Interrogate Management Information Systems, to obtain information for customers and to assist in the ordering/ accounting and return process
- Act as Direct Scheme Accountant
- to facilitate the effective repair and supply of vehicle spares from MOD Contractors, liaising with the Direct Repair System (DRS) Cell

**Person specification**:
As Storekeeper, you will develop and maintain effective working relationships with end users and with both MOD and external agencies responsible for allocating funding and delivering goods & services. Training is provided, but it would be advantageous if you have knowledge and experience of the Management of the Deployed Inventory (MJDI) and Contracts, Purchasing & Finance (CP&F) systems.

You will provide support and guidance to Stakeholders to ensure the business outputs of the Sqn are maintained. The Storekeeper role includes the sub-functions of

Electronic Procurement Card Holder in accordance with relevant directives

Potential Explosives Site (PES) Manager as the responsible person with regards to receipt and issue of munitions from 47Cdo and external sources, in accordance with DSA 03 OME Pt 2 (MOD Explosives Regulations)

Dangerous Goods Consignor for all hazardous Class 2-9 of Dangerous Goods IAW relevant directives.

A degree of physical ability is required as the role involves manual handling, and loading and unloading of goods using a Forklift Truck
- full training can be given. Manual Handling.

Depending upon experience and qualifications, travel including overnight stays may be required in order to complete training vital to fulfil the role.
